Foundation Botulinum Toxin 2-Day Course

Course Description:
Our Foundation Botulinum Toxin 2-Day Course is designed for healthcare professionals and beginners in aesthetics looking to gain the fundamental skills necessary to safely and effectively administer botulinum toxin (commonly known as Botox®) treatments. This course is ideal for those progressing from a Fast Track to Aesthetics course or with some needle experience, such as nurses or individuals trained in semi-permanent makeup.

During this two-day course, participants will be introduced to the science of botulinum toxin, facial anatomy, and the principles of aesthetic injectables. The course focuses on commonly treated areas such as the forehead, frown lines (glabella), and crow’s feet, with a balance of theoretical learning and hands-on practice on live models.

 

Course Components:

Day 1:
- Introduction to Botulinum Toxin: Overview of botulinum toxin products, their mechanisms of action, and how they differ from dermal fillers.
- Facial Anatomy and Muscular Function: Detailed study of the facial muscles responsible for dynamic wrinkles and how botulinum toxin affects muscle movement.
- Patient Consultation and Assessment: Learn to assess patient needs, identify suitable candidates for treatment, and set realistic expectations.
- Injection Techniques for Upper Face: Training on injection techniques for the most commonly treated areas: forehead lines, glabellar lines, and crow's feet.

Day 2:
- Live Demonstrations: Watch live botulinum toxin injections on models, with detailed instruction on technique, dosing, and product placement.
- Hands-On Practice: Gain practical experience by performing botulinum toxin injections on live models under expert supervision, ensuring safety and accuracy.
- Managing Complications: Learn how to recognise and manage potential complications such as ptosis (drooping eyelids), asymmetry, and inadequate dosing.
- Business and Legal Considerations: Introduction to the legal and business aspects of offering botulinum toxin treatments, including regulations, consent, and record-keeping.
